It was lifting time in Hollis Queens,
Post workout meals of turkey and collard greens,
Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese,
200 grams of protein is what my body needs.

N.W.A. Tip Of The Week
You’re not going to like me after I tell you this…
Christmas is over.
Stop eating like an arsehole.
Remember a month ago, when I told you about the “Big 5” of the Holiday Season?
A little recap…
There are 5 big holidays in November and December.
They are:
-
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas
- New Year’s Eve
- New Year’s Day
On those days, enjoy yourself.
Heck, I require clients to enjoy themselves!
My instructions to them are:
Emphasize the protein, have a taste of everything you want (but don’t binge), and turn the page the next day and get back to your diet.
That’s it.
That’s my entire “holiday progress cheatsheet”.
Simplistic, right?
You know what part is the most important part of that advice?
“Turn the page the next day and get back to your diet.”
The Big 5 Days are 5 out of 365 calendar days for the year.
They account for 1.3% of your time each year.
They’re a small blip in the grand scheme of things.
But it’s all the other days during the Holiday Season you need to be careful of.
Like TODAY, for example.
Today is the kind of day where people “keep the party going”, and continue to overindulge during the time between Christmas and New Year’s.
It’s a Friday.
You have holiday leftovers (including cookies and desserts).
You don’t feel like cooking after all your parties, so you head out for dinner.
You’re on break from work, so you’ll have a few extra drinks you wouldn’t normally have.
So, here’s my challenge to you.
If you haven’t yet done so, turn the page, Christmas is over, make good choices between now and Tuesday (which is New Year’s Eve).
Go on…
Throw away the leftovers…
Toss out the cookies…
Go get a workout in…
Let this be your warning.
You’re lucky you’re getting this reminder; lots of people out there will screw this up.
If you’re reading this saying, “Shit, Coach J is right!”, use this as a sign to get back on track now.
You can do it.
And you’ll be happy you did.
(Oh, and I hope your holiday season has been merry and bright – and continues to be so!)
