N.W.A. Tip Of The Week
There is nothing, and I mean nothing more satisfying than helping a new parent get into fantastic shape when their kids are young.
Time and time again, you hear the tired old trope that “you’ll gain weight after you have kids”.
You have less time. You get less sleep. You have less energy.
Because of this, perhaps health isn’t as high as it should be on your list of priorities.
This is a$$ backwards…
I’ve never been more scared in my life than when Brooklyn (my first daughter) was born.
Can you believe they just give you the kid and send you on your way?
And that’s that?
You have no experience, no wisdom, no nothing… just a brand new baby without so much as a manual or an instruction booklet.
Shit gets real quickly after your kid gets home after childbirth.
Long nights become your reality.
You’re about to learn a whole new meaning to the word “tired”.
Truth be told, I did gain weight after Brooklyn was born.
It scared me, too, big time.
I saw my trajectory.
I saw the “Future Me” and what he would look like.
And what he would feel like.
If I continued down the path I was on, at best, I’d be the “Fat Dad” who always had a beer in one hand, and a snack in the other.
And at worst, I’d be stuck with a myriad of health issues – high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, heartburn, high resting heart rate, and much more, I’m sure.
It was my children, and wanting to set a better example for them that led me down the rabbit hole of fitness.
It’s because of this that I’m talking to you right now, as well.
It took me 2 years to lose 85 pounds and get into the best shape of my life.
I went from “big beer belly” to 6-pack, literally.
So, when my buddy Jack turned to me and said, “Hey, dude, you’re in great shape and you know a lot about fitness – you should start a side business helping people”, I took action right away.
I figured I could help others.
I figured if I could help at least one other Dad get into great shape for his kids, I would have a positive net impact on this world.
It’s fair to say after 11 years of being in business, we’ve helped more than “just one Dad”.
In fact, last week, our ass-kicking Soldier Stu shot me this Before and After picture from his time in our coaching program.
I was floored!
Ironically, Stu also lost 85 pounds with us, just in time to celebrate his 40th birthday in style!
Stu’s motivation to lose the weight was just like mine – he wanted to set a better example for his kids.
It’s so rewarding to know that Stu’s young children won’t ever know “the old Stu”.
They will only know the vibrant, healthy, confident Stu – and he will set the example in his own family on how to live a happy, active life.
Oh, and fun fact!
It took me 2 years to lose 85 pounds.
I had to tinker, and try new things, and read research articles, and adjust things…
But Stu achieved the same 85 pound fat loss in less than 1 year’s time.
9 months, to be exact.
And THAT is why I wanted to start this business.
I had to learn everything the hard way.
Because of that, I can just hand you the gameplan on a silver platter, and it’s up to you to take care of business.
Congratulations, Stu.
If more people took the bull by the horns, like you did, I would feel much more optimistic about your future generations.
As we enter Year 12 with AF, we’re going to keep doing what we’re doing, and making a dent in obesity.
One person at a time.
