Without any further ado, let’s get started..
N.W.A. Tip Of The Week
Today’s lesson could be the most important lesson you will ever hear when it comes to fat loss.
I have been asked, “Can you still lose weight if you don’t track your food” so many times in the past 10 years, it’s hard to believe.
Let’s break this down, and give you my exact thoughts on this common inquiry…
The direct and simple answer is “yes, of course”.
There is no tracking requirement to staying lean, nor is there a requirement to losing weight.
We all know people who (magically, it seems) stay lean even though they don’t track their food.
Side note – I hate those people, because I am definitely not one of them…
But it’s kind of like this…
If you don’t use your GPS on a road trip, can you still get to your destination?
Yes, of course.
If you don’t look at your speedometer when you’re driving, can you still stay under the speed limit.
You sure can.
If you don’t track your expenses, can you still build wealth?
Absolutely.
BUT, is it the most efficient and precise way of going about these goals?
Nope, not by a long shot.
There is also a massive difference between “kinda, sort” tracking, and tracking “all in”.
Someone who is “kinda, sorta” tracking might be eyeballing portion sizes.
Guessing at the calories and protein.
Or having a few too many “LBT’s” (licks, bites, and tastes) throughout the day that add up over time.
Someone who is “all in” tracking is getting out measuring cups and tablespoons.
Reading all nutritional labels.
Looking up calorie and protein numbers at restaurants before they dine out to ensure they’re still in a deficit.
That sort of a thing.
We require our clients to track their calories and protein. Some choose to also track all of their macronutrients as well.
Does everyone track diligently?
No, not really, human nature says some people just don’t want to do it.
Hey, I get it… tracking is a major “PITA”, I understand completely.
BUT if you’re NOT tracking closely, don’t be upset when your results aren’t what you want them to be…
I have a 1:1 client whose name is Mike.
Mike started with me back in July; he weighed 314 pounds and had a goal to lose body fat and get healthy.
He rapidly made progress from week to week, until the holidays hit, and everything screeched to a halt.
Hey, it happens, we’ve all been there (I know I have)…
After the holidays had passed, Mike got back on track, and started tracking again.
But his weight didn’t budge for a good 6 weeks…
A few weeks ago, Mike emailed me, frustrated.
He was wondering what he was doing wrong.
He asked if we should alter his program somehow.
Less calories?
More steps?
More HIIT workouts?
Drop carbs?
Since I’ve been around the block, and I’ve seen this before, I knew what the problem was, and I laid it out for him.
To see what I told Mike, and see his results after his plateau, have a watch of this video, “Are you really tracking as closely as you think you are?”
(This video was sent out to Anyman Fitness clients; this is a real “behind the scenes look” here, I hope you enjoy it.)

I know it sometimes feels like people are judging you at the gym I’ve been there.
I’ve weighed 300 pounds and done bench presses with my huge gut spilling out self conscious as all hell.
I PROMISE you, nobody’s judging.
Nobody was judging me either.
It was all insecurity.
I hope you enjoyed this edition of the Anyman Fitness N.W.A. Newsletter.
I’ll be back next week.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
