It is what it is though, these are show biz things,
And it’s never really over ’til Lizzo sings,
We should coddle fat people, here’s a concept,
Let’s celebrate onset,
Diabetes and instead of dieting, we can just have a pie eating contest.

N.W.A. Tip Of The Week
Last week, YouTube sensation Nikocado Avocado dropped a bomb on his millions of followers.
I’ll admit, when I saw the headlines, I didn’t know who Nikocado was.
What I’m about to tell you may shock you…
There’s a subset of the online community that glorifies obesity and gluttony.
They create YouTube videos and social media content gorging themselves with food and purposefully gaining weight.
They do this under the guise of “fat acceptance”.
Apparently, there’s a big demand for these videos; many of them are extremely popular.
It’s enough to make your stomach churn, for many reasons.
I have no idea why anyone would want to watch someone glorifying obesity and excess consumption in that manner on video.
But hey, this is 2024, I guess, different strokes for different folks…
One of the biggest “stars” of this strange subculture is a guy named Nikocado Avocado, who has amassed millions of followers over the years.
Last week, Nikocado came out with a video titled “Two Steps Ahead”.
In the video, he revealed a drastically different Nikocado than his audience was used to.
He was lean and healthy, instead of the 411 pound guy his followers were used to seeing.
He informed his viewers the videos they had been watching were all pre-recorded, and he had been losing weight consistently over the last 2 years, to the tune of a whopping 250 pound weight loss.
Looks like Nikocado fooled us all.
He could be a genius, making millions of dollars fooling his audience into thinking he was eating himself to an early grave, all the while he was losing the weight and getting healthy.
Or he could be batshit crazy; it’s up to you to decide.
But the question on many of our minds isn’t what he did or how he did it, it’s “Is it possible to lose that much weight in a healthy manner?”
250 pounds is a lot of weight to lose in 2 years.
How much weight can someone actually lose in 2 years?
Was Nikocado starving himself?
Was he even eating at all?
Is this even possible?
Let’s break it down…
You can safely lose up to 2% of your bodyweight per week while dieting, assuming you eat adequate protein and you strength train.
Nikocado started losing weight at 411 pounds.
This means at the start of his journey, he can lose around 8 pounds each week safely without any risk of muscle loss or negative health effects.
Nikocado’s ending weight was 161 pounds.
This means, even at the end of his journey, he can still lose around 3 pounds each week safely without any risk of muscle loss or negative health effects.
While 250 pounds in 2 years seems like a lot, 2 years is 104 weeks. Nikocado averaged around 2.4 pounds of weight loss per week.
His weight loss is well within the realm of healthy for a guy his size.
How is this possible?
How can morbidly obese people lose weight so quickly, and do so in a safe manner?
There’s a few reasons for this.
Reason #1: Their Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is much higher than the average person’s.
Your Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories you burn simply by existing.
The biggest factor to your BMR is how much you weigh.
People who weigh an excessive amount burn a ton of calories simply by existing, due to their large size.
When morbidly obese people get consistent with a healthy intake, and start exercising, they drop weight rapidly (safely, too).
Have you ever seen “My 600 Pound Life”?
It’s not uncommon for those individuals to lose up to 100 pounds in 6 months, under the supervision of a doctor.
It’s wild how quickly you can lose weight when you have a lot of weight to lose.
Reason #2: They have a lot more “bullshit weight” to lose than the average person.
“Bullshit weight” is weigh that isn’t fat, it isn’t muscle, it’s just “bullshit”.
Every cell in your body has glycogen and water attached to it.
When you reduce your carbohydrate consumption drastically, start hydrating better, and begin exercising, much of that glycogen and water weight wooshes out of you – FAST.
Your stomach content will decrease.
Your colon content will decrease.
Extra water from excessive sodium consumption will leave you as well.
I’ve seen heavier clients lose up to 50 pounds in 3 months, with a modest calorie deficit and exercise.
That’s a pace of 100 pounds per year, which is extraordinary.
Nikocado’s weight loss was completely healthy.
My hat is off to him; I’m glad he lost the weight and got real with himself.
Glorifying obesity is never a good thing; it’s the last thing we need in our society in 2024.
And if you’re currently in a similar situation – morbidly obese thinking you have no hope – take comfort in the fact that once you do get serious, your results will be faster than you can imagine.
