You know this guy?
If you recognize this picture, you are a TRUE child of the 80’s……..
This week, as “Mrs. Anyman” went out of town on a business trip, I was left at home to my own devices.
I had a small taste of what single parents go through.
It was just for 3 days, but working two jobs on top of taking care of all of the domestic duties was……..a bit tiring to say the least.
But I had a good time.
I did my best not to complain once – I re-framed the situation as a positive one.
I could have said:
Oh, man, Jason, this will be miserable. Twice as much housework and nobody to help me get the girls (3 and 5) ready for school, bed, dinner, etc.
This sucks.
But instead, after a re-framing, I said:
I have two healthy and beautiful girls. I rarely get any time alone with them. I’m going to have fun, enjoy my time with just the two of them, and use this as a time to reconnect with them. I am blessed.
And wouldn’t you know it?
I almost had fun.
Until my 3-year old, Ava, ate a whole roll of toothpaste.
Like I said – almost. 😉
Reading Gainz By Jason
This week’s article on our site was a big one – shared hundreds of times around social media.
As you may (or may not) know, I’m a bit obsessed with fitness.
I rarely watch television.
Nearly all of my free-time is reading fitness and self-improvement articles.
After reading thousands of articles over the past decade, I came up with a list of my 10 favorite articles.
These are ALL must-reads. They will change your thinking and possibly your life.

Client Gainz Of The Week
Today’s Client Gainz come from client Jason (nice name, dude!).
Jason has been working with us for about 6 weeks now.
He’s using a minimalist approach. He trains for about 45 minutes, 3 times per week and has 4 FULL days off per week.
He uses zero cardio and eats large meals with one of our fasting protocols.
And he’s leaning out fast and looking great!
Jason is doing an amazing job. He’s staying level-headed, setting PR’s, and he’s well on his way to revealing the manly, muscular physique he’s looking for.
Nice job, my dude! Keep it up!
Thought Gainz Of The Week
This week’s Thought Gainz come from client Tyler.
Tyler recently had some squatting issues that were really bumming him out.
He sent us an email, which read:
Hey, J,
Alright, man, this squat is so frustrating.
I keep moving up in weight, and when I get around 240, I get stuck.
I can’t get past 5 reps of 240. At that weight, the squat feels like a good morning, I feel unsteady, and I’m scared.
I don’t want to stop squatting, though, since squatting is one of the best moves there is.
What should I do? Should I drop down in weight? Accessory moves? Switch out the movement?
Thanks, man,
Tyler
Great questions, Tyler.
