Can I work out in the morning,

Without giving you half of my shake,

Even worse, if I was broke,

Would we still lift?

Happy Friday, Coach J here from Anyman Fitness – and welcome to the latest edition of The N.W.A. Newsletter.

Each week with the N.W.A. Newsletter, I give you the best Nutrition, Weightlifting, and/or Attitude advice for you to start to use in your life today.

Tens of thousands of people have used this exact newsletter to gain muscle, lose fat, and become a better version of themselves…

Without any further ado, let’s get started..

N.W.A. Tip Of The Week

It’s the end of an era.

For years, I would post a physique update and get non-stop accusations online.

I would get accusations that I’m “not natty” and taking steroids or testosterone.

I would reply back with something snarky like, “Actually, I’ve never taken anything, maybe I’m just more consistent and work harder than you?

I suppose I’m going to need to update my list of comebacks… as my “natty status” is now no longer.

A few weeks ago, I started testosterone replacement therapy.

Truth be told, I’ve never had anything against testosterone, peptides, or even steroids, really.

I’m libertarian – as long as you understand the risk/benefit ratio, and you are a consenting adult, you do you.

My wife has been on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for years; perimenopause has been challenging to say the least.

I also figured at some point I would need some exogenous testosterone, as natural production declines with age.

I was holding off for as long as I can, though, as it’s a big commitment (usually for life).

I started checking my total testosterone levels in my early 30’s.

Every time I have had them checked, they’ve been in the low 300’s.

That’s pretty low.

Most men feel and perform their best with total testosterone numbers in the 800-1000 range.

But I never had any symptoms of “low t”.

I always had ample energy.

My fitness results were fantastic, I’ve been able to gain muscle and stay at a low body fat percentage.

My libido was just fine.

No real reason to take anything if I feel and perform well.

But recently, I’ve noticed a few things.

My energy levels have been off.

Even after 8-9 hours of sleep, I would struggle to get out of bed.

I would feel stressed and anxious about little things that don’t really matter.

I would be in a bad mood, really for no reason.

I should be ecstatic about my life – I have a great career, I’m nearing financial independence, I have a hot/awesome wife, I have 2 healthy daughters who get great grades and never get in trouble, and my wife and I both have a mom/dad who are alive and healthy.

That is the American Dream!

You understand my confusion then when I would be grumpy, low-key depressed, and struggle to get my daily tasks accomplished.

I decided to have a consultation with a physician about seeing if perhaps declining testosterone is to blame.

Testosterone is the serum of youth.

It gives you confidence, fire, energy, and vigor.

A few weeks back, I started injecting.

I haven’t noticed much so far.

Perhaps a bit more energy.

My workouts have been solid and I’ve been looking forward to getting into the gym again.

Previously, it had seemed like a huge chore to go lift.

Maybe that’s just a placebo, though, who knows.

After 6 weeks, I’m going to have full labs done to see if/how we need to adjust things, or if we need to add in any other medications.

Assuming I have a positive experience, there’s some more news…

The company I’m using has a referral program.

They offer HRT for both men and women, along with a myriad of peptides and other anti-aging protocols.

If I am happy with my experience and results, in the future, I will be able to offer these services to you as a part of my coaching programs.

The reason I’ve never done this in the past is because I only recommend to you things I have done personally.

That’s always been a rule I’ve had for my business.

If I haven’t done it myself, I will not recommend it to you.

Now, I will be able to, though.

So if you are feeling the same symptoms I am, if middle age is kicking your ass, or perimenopause is wreaking havoc on you, soon, you may have a potential solution.

And of course, I’ll document things as they happen.

I’ll give you updates here and on social media about how I feel and how things are progressing.

The funny thing is I recently posted about this on both X and Facebook.

I received dozens of DM’s, text messages, etc from people saying:

“Welcome to the club”

“Yep, I was 45 when I started, too”

“I’m having these exact same symptoms, should I look into TRT?”

Seems like a lot of us are in the same boat…

Here’s to looking good, feeling good, and living our best lives.

Thanks for coming along with me on the journey.

I’ve been coaching men and women in 1:1, personalized protocols since 2013.

Here’s an example from Tres – he lost 30 pounds in my program and now has a 6 pack at the age of 49:

More AF Content From Around the Web:

I used to have 14 inch arms, and I wanted them to be bigger.

I started doing 5 sets of 12-15 reps of bicep curls to failure 5 times per week.

They grew 2 inches in 3 months.

High volume training WORKS.

Period.

End of story.
