Get me in the gym and I’m troubled,

Last week messed around and did 305 for a double.

Happy Friday, Coach J here from Anyman Fitness – and welcome to the latest edition of The N.W.A. Newsletter.

Each week with the N.W.A. Newsletter, I give you the best Nutrition, Weightlifting, and/or Attitude advice for you to start to use in your life today.

Tens of thousands of people have used this exact newsletter to gain muscle, lose fat, and become a better version of themselves…

Without any further ado, let’s get started..

N.W.A. Tip Of The Week

When I was in my 20’s, I would make any excuse imaginable to skip the gym.

Tired? Skip.

Sore? Skip.

Papers to grade? Skip.

Bad weather? Skip.

No reason at all, just didn’t feel like it? Skip.

It took me a long time to develop the habit of going to the gym no matter what – no excuses, get your butt into the gym.

Truth be told, it wasn’t something I had to grow into.

It didn’t take long to build the habit.

One day, something just all of a sudden clicked and I’ve been rock solid consistent ever since.

I was teaching 8th grade at the time; this was years before Anyman Fitness came into existence.

I had a student named Thomas.

Thomas had a sister named Lisa.

Lisa was 5 years old and was battling neuroblastoma.

It was an awful situation.

Lisa was one of 3 siblings.

Mom and Dad were trying to do everything they could to keep the family in positive spirits.

But Lisa was going downhill.

The countless treatments, hospital visits/stays, long road trips to see specialists, etc. took a toll on the family, needless to say.

As teachers, we did everything we could to support Lisa’s siblings.

Gave them extra attention and empathy/sympathy.

But at some point, what can you do?

Childhood neuroblastoma is one of those diseases you wonder about.

One of those diseases that makes you question, “If God is out there, why does he allow this sickness to exist?”

Eventually, Lisa succumbed to the cancer, and passed away at the age of 6.

Many students and most of the staff attended the showing and funeral.

When I got to the funeral home, I offered my condolences and started looking at all of the trinkets, pictures, and memories of Lisa.

Then, I saw a table with dozens and dozens (possibly 100’s) of stuffed animals.

There was a sign on the table that said, “Please take one and give them away – these dollies need a new Mommy.”

That just broke me.

I fought back the tears, swallowed hard, and grabbed 2 dolls to take home to my daughters.

I remember on the way home thinking about the gut wrenching situation I had just witnessed.

And how lucky I was to be driving home to see my two wonderful, lively, and healthy children.

But I remember thinking to myself… “Are YOU as healthy as you can be?”

I thought about all those times I had skipped workouts.

For any reason under the sun.

And I thought about how many people were out there that would give anything to have the physical ability to exercise.

What a gift it is to be able to go exercise!

Millions of people can’t do it.

They don’t have the money to go to the gym, or the physical ability to do it.

I was taking it for granted, and I vowed not to do that any more.

Ever since then, I’ve been rock solid consistent with working out.

Maybe not perfect, but I rarely skip a training session “just because” any more.

If I do miss a session, it’s because work is busy, and I always get to the gym a minimum of 3 days per week, no matter what.

Start thinking about yourself and your own situation.

Are you taking your own advantages for granted?

Be sure you exercise your own gift of health and mobility, and always be grateful.

It helps keep things in the proper perspective, no doubt.

I’ve been coaching men and women in 1:1, personalized protocols since 2013.

Here’s an example from Sam – he lost 50 pounds in my program and now has a 6 pack at the age of 49:

More AF Content From Around the Web:

I was recently contacted by the CEO/owner of Bingeworthy Snacks – he asked me if I’d like to try out his new product “Beef Crisps”.

I said sure, why not! Sounds right up my alley…

Alex sent me over 5 bags of Beef Crisps and I took them with me on a recent fishing trip:

I shared these with my buddies – and everyone raved about them.

Super high in protein.

Super clean – only 2 ingredients – beef and salt.

And the best part – super tasty!

It’s like you’re eating New York Strip, straight from the bag.

If you are a meat eater looking for a healthier alternative to beef jerky, this is it right here.

The only “catch” is they’re a premium product.

Admittedly they’re not for everyone – they’re a bit pricey.

I hope you enjoyed this edition of the Anyman Fitness N.W.A. Newsletter.

I’ll be back next week.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Best, Coach J
