Love the way you aggravate those squats and push your glutes out,
Got a gym bro struggling so hard I’m ’bout to pass out.

N.W.A. Tip Of The Week
There are few things in this world more powerful than a true Magic Mirror Moment.
A Magic Mirror Moment is a moment in time where you see something that reminds you of yourself.
It causes you to pause and take notice; you see yourself, your own reflection, and often, you don’t like what you see.
Magic Mirror Moments can be an actual mirror – we have all stepped out of the shower, dropped the towel, looked in the mirror… and realize we don’t really like what we see.
Very few people on this planet can say otherwise.
If you can, consider yourself lucky.
But more often than not, the Magic Mirror Moments that really get under your skin are moments where you see yourself in others around you.
My first daughter, Brooklyn, was born in July of 2010.
I was teaching middle school at the time; I was blessed to have a solid 5 weeks before the school year started.
I was able to enjoy that time with my wife and ease into this new life we had created.
School started in September.
A few weeks into the school year were parent-teacher conferences.
As I walked into the gym, and sat down at the card table that said “Mr. Helmes”, I looked out at the chairs, and the parents who were sitting in them.
One by one, the families would stand up from their chairs, and walk up to my card table.
They’d shake my hand, introduce themselves, and sit down to discuss how their kid was doing in class.
I paid extra close attention to the Dads.
It was a Magic Mirror Moment – for the first time ever, I was a Dad, just like them.
We were on the same “team”, so to speak.
I observed the walks, the mannerisms, the aura, etc of the Dads I chatted with.
Some looked me in the eyes and nodded with confidence when they shook my hand.
Others stared at the floor, giving off the impression they were embarrassed for some reason.
Some of the Dads were in great shape, and well put together.
Their clothes fit, they were nicely groomed, and they gave off the impression of success.
Others were wearing ratty sweatpants, had disheveled hair, and looked like they hadn’t gotten off of the couch in decades.
For the first time, I asked myself, “Which type of Dad do YOU want to be, Jason?”
In 12 years, I would be in their shoes.
My kid(s) would be in middle school, and I would be at parent teacher conferences.
Would I be fit, put together, masculine, and full of confidence?
Or would I be unhealthy, timid, and give off a weak aura?
It wasn’t long after that Magic Mirror Moment I started getting really serious about health and self-improvement.
It seemed important to me; like it really, really mattered.
I wanted my daughters to see a healthy, fit, confident example of what a man should be.
Suddenly, I had a massive responsibility to attend to.
There’s just one catch about Magic Mirror Moments – when you have them, you must allow them to motivate you to take action.
You can’t just have them, and go about your life without reflecting.
We ALL have things we wish we could change.
Some things we can’t, we have no control over them.
But your health (for the most part) is completely in control.
It’s up to you to decide when you will get serious about it and truly go all in.
I’ve been coaching men and women in 1:1, personalized protocols since 2013.
Here’s an example from Tres – he lost 30 pounds in my program and now has a 6 pack at the age of 49:
