- A recap of the week’s featured article.
- A kick-ass update from one of our online training clients.
- Thoughts regarding a common fitness question.
- The best fitness articles on the interwebzzzzzzz.
Huge week for your boy Jason (yes, that was third person) and Anyman Fitness, LLC.
It’s the third week of the school season, our clients are kicking ass, and we had an article on online training strategies published by the Personal Trainer Development Center this week. (Link below in “Reading Gainz by Jason”)
I’ve been on a few pretty big sites – Yahoo, Men’s Health, Bodybuilding.com, and Musclefood, to name a few.
I’ve been a guest blogger for some pretty kick-ass dudes like Bryan Krahn and Eric Bach of Bach Performance.
But for some reason, there is something special about seeing your name on the PTDC.
To me, this one is a biggie for two reasons. It’s time to go “full disclosure”.
Full disclosure #1:
The PTDC is a site for trainers, not for fitness fanatics. Being featured in The PTDC means I have something to offer other TRAINERS – and I can help them improve their craft.
That feels good.
Full disclosure #2:
And I can’t believe I’m going to admit this………but screw it, I’m an honest dude.
I’ve been turned down by them countless times before.
But each time, I shrugged my shoulders, and tried again.
Proving once again that the fisherman with the shiniest bait doesn’t catch the fist.
The fisherman with the most lines in the water does.
Reading Gainz By Jason
This week, we had two kick ass articles published.
The first article was on my trigger foods – foods I avoid because I cannot show any self control WHATSOEVER around them.
The article was titled “How To Eat Too Many Calories (And Gain Fat)” and you can find it ====> [HERE]
The second article was the aforementioned article on the Personal Trainer Development Center on strategies to improve client adherence and motivation.
The article was titled “8 Strategies To Improve Compliance and Motivation With Your Online Fitness Clients” and you can find it ====> [HERE].
Client Gainz Of The Week
This week’s client gainz come from Ian.
Ian just finished up his initial, 12-week cut with us.
His primary goal was to set himself up for a slow bulk and work on filling out his frame.
He did an outstanding job, ending with abdominal definition:
Solid stuff, Ian! Time to up the calories and the volume and chase those gainzzzz!
Job well done.
Thought Gainz Of The Week
This week’s thought gainz come from client Brian.
Client Brian was featured last week in our “Client Gainz” section.
He lost almost 6″ off of his stomach and 20 pounds during his first 12 weeks with us.
He’s stronger than he’s ever been and setting crazy PR’s.
His chest was all puffed out.
And then he had a “Bod Pod” reading.
I received this email when he came back:
Hey, Jason, what’s up, man?
The Bod Pod reading came back all weird. I was so jacked up to see how much fat I had lost and how much muscle I had gained.
The reading said I was still 20% body fat and it also said I had lost 7 pounds of muscle during our time together!
That means I’ve barely lost any fat and I’ve actually lost tons of muscle! Which is not what I wanted, obviously!
How is that possible? What did we do wrong?
I want to fix this, I would love to hear your thoughts.
-Brian
Aye, aye, aye…….where to begin?
Here was my response:
